Life is Awesome

When I went back to work after having Eva I learned a really important lesson. Being a stay at home Mom is a privilege. I knew that when it was time to quit my full time job that it was important to enjoy every moment home with the kiddos. Because it is a rockin awesome life.

And while two kids is definitely busier, it is also twice as enjoyable.

I find joy in watching my kids play. A million times a day I think I say in my mind, "Gosh, Eva is so beautiful." Or "Oh! She just said the cutest thing!" Or "Emerson is seriously adorable." The sound of that baby's laugh is my favorite.

And my kids continue to teach me. When swinging both Emerson and Eva,  I captured the moment of Eva catching the sun rays on her face as she was swinging by. Teaching me to find joy in the simplest moments of life. They remind me to slow down and smell the roses.
And just look at that little baby boy in his swing flying by. Seriously Adorable!

And thanks to this guy's hard work, I get to be with the kids all day.
Don't get me wrong. I still work part time teaching pilates and working on a political campaign. But it sure beats a full time office job.

I thought I would miss working in an office full time. But once I quit, I have never looked back. This lifestyle is just seriously so much better.

I love the flexibility. I love being my own boss. I love taking naps during the day (which I deserve after waking up early to teach 6am classes :) And I love doing things with other inspiring mothers.

I love being able to go into the city to have lunch with Lincoln.

I absolutely love living in DC. When I worked on the Hill I used to run past all of the monuments on my lunch break (when Congress was not in session).

Now I still can go on that beautiful run on the national mall. I just take the kids in tow and recognize that it is going to take a little longer.

And of course, a motorcade, causing lots of traffic.

I love that the zoo is free here. Every summer we like to go a couple of times just for an hour or two. It is a nice little outing.

And if you haven't been to Washington's farm, it is gorgeous. Located right by Mt. Vernon, but it is free.

Sometimes I really ware this girl out

There is nothing sweeter in this world than a new baby sleeping on your chest.
I wouldn't want to trade out this time with my babies for anything else

In the words of another blogger when talking about motherhood, "This is what God gave you time for."

I can honestly say that I love being a mother and spending most of my day with my kids so much more than I ever thought I would. It is one of life's purest joys.
