The simple pleasures of New York

I went on another trip to New York.
However, this time, Lincoln stayed home and held down the fort.
I went with 9 other girls for a fantastic weekend out on the town.
We had a lot of fun, and I will post those pics later.
For now, I wanted to post some of the simple pleasures in New York, because...

Every corner,
 every block,
and every building
 has something unique about it.
From crazy statues, to beautiful ceilings and flowers--
I love to visit New York.

Happy Easter

"At this Easter season of hope and renewal we testify of the glorious reality of the atonement and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The empty tomb brought comforting assurance and provided the answer to the question of Job, “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14).

Because of the Savior’s resurrection we will overcome death and become the beneficiaries of His mercy and grace. In a world of trouble and uncertainty, His peace fills our hearts and eases our minds. Jesus is in very deed “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

We give our sure witness that Jesus is the Christ. Though He was crucified, He rose triumphant from the tomb to our everlasting blessing and benefit. To each member of the human family He stands as our Advocate, our Savior, and our Friend."  --Taken from the First Presidency Easter Message found HERE

As much as I love to decorate my house with All-a-Dollar eggs and Easter flowers, it is important for me to remember why we celebrate Easter Sunday- "Because of the Savior's Resurrection we will overcome death and become the beneficiaries of His mercy and grace."

A beautiful evening with the cherry blossoms

Once the House is not in session, I not only get my sanity back, but I get to leave work at 5. Last night I had class at 7, so I had a little bit of free time to spare. Since Lincoln had class at 6, he dropped me off and I shot some pics of the cherry blossoms. The season has almost passed and the blossoms are right at the end of their peak. But it was a beautiful evening, and the clouds made for some perfect pictures.

Out of the blue phone call

Today at work a photographer, John Harrington called me. He said, "I have a couple of pictures of you and Billy Corgan and was wondering if you wanted me to email them to you." I was shocked, and quickly replied YES! As my last post on Billy mentioned that my camera wasn't working the day I met him. (Or at least the intern didn't know how to work it.) So thank you John Harrington for going out of your way, to make my day!

APRIL FOOLS!

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WARM AND KIND WISHES,
BUT THE DC ESSIGS ARE NOT WITH CHILD.
Maybe next year if we really are prego, on April Fools we will tell everyone that we are not.
(two years in a row. It gets them everytime.)
And for those who have asked. I really got that little baby from an Anti Abortion group at work one day. Saying, "This is what you kill--it has little arms and little legs."
or something like that.
AND please don't hate me.

The DC Essigs have some exciting news to share!

We are pregnant!!!
Cute Little baby DC Essig is 10 weeks along!
We are due October 21st.

Can I just tell you how great my Doctor is--
At our last visit he gave me a toy baby that is exactly the size of little baby DC Essig.
Isn't it so amazing to think that this is the size of the baby in my tummy???
Lincoln and I are really excited!
