New York with my Mama

Lincoln was gone for work in California the entire month of September. So my mom came out for two weeks to keep me company. We had such a great time together. While I was at work, she went sightseeing in DC one of the days. The rest of the time she spent decorating my friends apartments. (And she did an amazing job!) She loves helping others, so she had a great time. My mom even went to my pilates class with me. It was so fun to have her be part of my DC life.

One of the weekends she was here, we decided to go to New York. My mom had never been to New York before, and it had always been a dream of hers. My sweet friend Ashlee came with us, and we stayed at the Riley's while we were there. The Riley's were incredibly hospitable! (especially considering the fact that they knew Lincoln, but had never even met me before) They were incredibly sweet to have us all over. We had such a lovely time together.

I love my mom. Instead of the usual sight seeing in New York, all she really wanted to do was go thrifting! So we went to two fantastic flee markets that day. (Thank you again Jill for the recommendations!) One was The Garage (literally in a parking garage)

The other was Hell's Kitchen.

Yes I bought this shirt there for 5 bucks. It was awesome. But no I did not buy the scarf...

We were able to convince my mom to do some sight seeing.
We went to the Modern Museum of Art.

Does this look familiar? (We were trying to portray the MTC map picture)
Ojo eh!

(Our cupcakes were not half as good as my mom's cheesecake.)

Thanks again mom for coming out to keep me company while Lincoln was gone. Come back soon please!

New York with your Mom! That sounds so fun. You'll have to take me thrifting when we are in D.C. It looks like more and more that will happen in the near future. It will be nice to have an 'old hand' like you around!
