Emerson's blessing was really special. We did it in Utah. Emerson wore the same outfit that all of my borthers were blessed in. It was really sweet to have many of my brothers and Lincoln's brothers in the circle to bless our little boy. And when the blessing was going on I had an overwhelming sense that my Dad was there too.
Lincoln blessed Emerson to have a healthy body and strong concise mind. A desire to learn about our Savior and build a strong relationship with him. He was blessed with Faith. And told to learn about the miracles of the priesthood and prepare for a mission. He was blessed to be obedient with dilligence. He was blessed to have patience. He has a kind and loving spirit and will be a good example to many. He was reminded that through challenges he is being prepared to return to his Heavenly Father. He was blessed with love and to look to his parents as examples. And finally he was blessed to be a help and support to his mother.
After the blessing was finished, my mom looked at me and said, "Dad was here. In the last blessing that dad gave Landen (my little brother) when he was set apart as a Decon, he said in the blessing that he would be a help and support to his mother." Those were the exact same words that Lincoln blessed Emerson with. Just one of those sweet coincidences that you know are not coincidences but rather little Heavenly winks.
