Everyone is constantly fighting over who gets to hold Eliza. And Eva wants to hold her the most.
Newborn snuggles are the best!
Packing all three kids in our Honda Accord
Great Grandma Smoot and Grandma Essig came to see Eliza and stayed in DC for a week. We absolutely LOVED having them here.
It is so fitting that these two special ladies traveled to see and meet Eliza right after she was born:
Alyse Essig drove down from New York. Both Alyse and Eliza share the same birthday (March 3rd) so they will always have a special connection because they are birthday twins!
And I love that Great Grandma Smoot came. We named Eliza after Eliza R. Snow (one of the first General Relief Society Presidents of the LDS church) and Mary Ellen Smoot was the 13th general president of the Relief Society.
All the visitors that came. (Alyse's brother also came to visit with her. He wanted to see NYC and DC)
I got to spend a special couple of hours with Grandma Smoot in the DC temple. It was like going somewhere with a celebrity. Everyone recognized her and wanted to say hi to her.
The new craziness with three kids
Emerson is so sweet and loving with Eliza.
ALL THREE KIDS IN DIAPERS. YEP, ITS RIDICULOUS.
It's time for Eva to get potty trained.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMERSON!! My sweet little two year old. His smile just melts my heart. I love that boy so much.

Lacey and Bailey came out for Eliza's Blessing and to see the Cherry Blossums
We had lots of fun touring DC
Roosevelt Island
Montecello
(where we got kicked off the tour because our kids were too crazy)
We also almost got kick out of the tour at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Crazy kids have a hard time staying still and being quiet :) Who would have thought...

Eliza's Blessing Day
Eliza Joy Essig's Baby Blessing
April 12th, 2015
Eliza was blessed to:
- Seek to have a strong relationship with her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
- Follow in the footsteps of Christ.
- Look to her mother and older sister as examples.
- Seek her own testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Be an example of love, kindness and patience to her siblings.
- Remember the women she has been named after- Eliza R. Snow and Joy Abegg. Learn about them and how they have been faithful to their Heavenly Father.
- Blessed with a strong mind, healthy body, and a heart of service
- Strengthen those around her who stand in need of strength.
- Keep priorities straight in life.
- In the appropriate time of her life, seek Heavenly Father in prayer concerning who to marry in the temple.
- Put the gospel and Heavenly Father first in her life, and He will bless her with everything she needs.

Sweet Eliza in her blessing dress. This is the same dress that I wore when I was blessed. Eva also wore this dress.3
