Baby doesn't like meetings

I was sitting in the Speaker's Office yesterday with my boss and other Congressman and staffers. My boss was in charge of the meeting and I was the one briefing him. Well about 10 minutes into the hour long meeting, our little baby girl must have got bored because she started kicking up a storm! It was so distracting!! I don't know if I have ever felt her move so much in one sitting. It lasted almost the whole meeting. She would kick so hard, it seriously made me jump in my seat a couple of times. When my boss would lean over to me to ask me a question, and it was rough because I was having such a hard time paying attention with all the aerobics going on in my tummy... I wish I could have whispered to her--You are in the Speaker's Office of the US House of Representatives! You need to subtle down!--Crazy little girl.

We Love Jenny Auction coming Feb. 14th

Jenny Reeder is a friend of mine and was diagnosed with leukemia in November. She went from being a full-time PhD Student to being a full-time patient, dedicated to beating the cancer that was attacking her body. Where her days were filled with reading, writing, and researching, they are now comprised of chemo, shots, rest and lots of waiting. With two months down and two years to go, cancer-beating has proved to be a very expensive ordeal! In an effort to help Jenny with her expenses, her friends have put together an auction in which retailers/moms/students/etsy shops/friends/family/anyone can donate time and talents for sale and all the proceeds go to Jenny’s treatment fund.

The Auction will be held on Valentine’s Day, February 14th from 9am-10pm EST.

I can't remember what was so funny at the moment.

We had a nice dinner with friends and then went to Alexandria.

The George Washington Masonic Monument put on a good show.

I just like to go where there are fireworks :)

Visiting Grandma Abegg

While in Utah we visited my sweet Grandma Abegg.

My Grandma Abegg was always so good at writing me on my mission and always encouraged me to marry a great guy like Grandpa Abegg was to her. When we told her we were expecting a baby girl in my she said, "It's about time!"

My favorite part of the visit was when she noticed that Lincoln was playing games on his phone instead of paying attention to what everyone was talking about. She still got it.

The boys had a little too much fun playing with her wheelchair while we were there.
